Guaranteed tournaments strategy
There are hundreds of online guaranteed tournaments on a daily basis. All major poker rooms have at least one guaranteed tournament with huge prizepool that runs regularly and attracts thousands of players. As the competition is getting tougher, the number of guaranteed increases and so is the prizepool.
In a guaranteed tournament by Wolf-Winner.net, the poker room guarantees that the prizepool will reach a certain minimum level. Like in many other types of tournaments, the players must play an entry fee that will be added to the prizepool and will cover the poker room’s commission. In regular tournaments the prizepool is calculated by multiplying the number of players multiplied with the entry fee.
On the other hand in guaranteed tournaments if the number of entrants is lower and the minimum prizepool is not reached, the poker room will add the difference. The great advantage is that although the number of players is smaller, the number of winning positions is the same. So, the lower is the number of players the higher are the chances for each player to finish in the money.
The main goal for all entrants of a guaranteed is to finish in the money as high as possible. The general strategy is to start building a higher stack right from the start so you will see many aggressive players in the first hour.
As the number of players gets smaller, everyone starts to play tighter and the players leave the tournament slower. Large guaranteed tournaments with huge prizepool can last five hours or even more so the best thing to do is to be patient.
When the number of remaining players reaches the number of winning positions, the game will get a little loose as some players are satisfied with the prize but don’t want to continue playing. Each time the number of remaining players gets close to an upper level of winnings, the game turns tighter again.
In guaranteed tournaments the most important aspect is the stack. As long as you have a stack above the average you will have more chances to get a better finishing position. If you have a small stack and you don’t increase it fast you better give up because you will only lose more time because the blinds will get higher kicking you out of the tournament anyway.
